| Day 3. The bikes lined up at a parking lot at the fameous Rossfeld Ringstrasse in Berchtesgaden. The view from this point is exceptional: To one side you can see for miles and miles into Austria and to the other side just as far into Germany. The building on the mountain top in the background is Kehlsteinhaus, or the 'Eagles Nest' - the summer cottage that was given to Hitler on his fiftieth birthday. |
